Fall is fully under way and the weather is getting much cooler! It's a good thing the store is fully stocked to keep you warm on those chilly nights ahead! If you haven’t taken a look at our apparel, you need to do so now -- we are fully stocked with gorgeous sweaters and even some holiday tops and dresses! We just received a big shipment of fluffy, warm Barefoot Dreams blankets and Faceplant Dreams slippers. If it’s scarves you need to keep you warm, we have lots of those as well from Wooden Ships, Chan Luu and my new fave, Grisal -- these 100% cashmere scarves are the creme de la creme of cashmere.

Our tabletop and gift departments are growing every day with new arrivals. Thanksgiving is just around the corner and now is a great time to stock up on linens, tabletop decor and hostess gifts. Did you know that we are now carrying Wasik’s gift cards? Pair one with one of our cheeseboards or spreaders.

Finally, just a reminder -- come meet one of our favorite pillow designers, Alexandra Ferguson this Saturday during our trunk show. She will be in from Brooklyn and at the store from 11am - 2pm and we will be serving cheese and sparkling cider as well.

There’s a chill in the air and like it or not, fall is on it’s way. It has always been my favorite season thanks to the color changes of the trees, the scents in the air and best of all, the fashion -- I love sweater weather! We’ll help keep you cozy with Wooden Ships, Minnie Rose, Michael Stars and so many more great designers.

I spent a good part of the summer attending some shows and cannot wait to share with you the great things I found. We also had the opportunity to create some gift “baskets” for some of our customers. We had so much fun making them that we wanted to let you know that we are happy to create one for you as well. Email or call us, give us a price point and a few ideas about the recipient and we can create a unique housewarming, birthday, baby or anniversary gift and have it ready for you at your convenience. As always, we are also more than happy to ship gifts out for you.

We have exciting news for our out of town customers -- we joined Shoptiques.com this summer and now you can shop us online. You can find home, gift and apparel (coming next month) on this beautiful website. Check it out and feel free to share our URL to start shopping right away.

I know this time of year can be a little overwhelming but don’t stress -- we are fully prepared to help you with that last minute hostess gift, birthday gift or little pick-me-up that you are looking for. We have new products arriving daily over the next couple of months and I promise you’re going to love what you see. We’ve got more jewelry than ever before. I think our tabletop selection is our best yet and as promised, we have a wide array of unique gifts from so many artisans right here in the US.

Beach season is finally here!

When I think of the beach, my mind immediately turns to "what are some good books to recline with"? As promised, my cousin Halle has come through with a fantastic list for the summer. As I mentioned in my last letter, I think it might be fun to start a virtual Pine Straw book club by chatting about the books online on our Facebook page. We will open it to everyone and I hope you'll join in!

Speaking of Facebook, did you know that whether or not you've got your own Facebook page you can "like us" and by doing that you'll get to see what's new in the store. From new merchandise to Anne's latest creations - have you seen our summer windows yet?! We even have contests once in a while and award a lucky "friend" a gift card just for liking us! And don't forget, you can always follow us on Pinterest and Instagram!

Keep your eyes and ears open for July Jubilation this year as Pine Straw will be participating. We will have a table in Wellesley Square with a sampling of our merchandise, along with some goodies. Back at the store, we will be conducting our annual sidewalk sale, including housewares, stationery, gifts, candles and apparel.
